Mangaluru: Union Minister Nirmala Sitharaman accompanied by some State BJP leaders offered prayers at the Sri Krishna mutt in Udupi. She prayed for the welfare of the country and the return of Narendra Modi as Prime Minister in the coming elections, said media reports.
The Defence Minister was accompanied by BJP candidate for Udupi-Chikkamagaluru Lok Sabha seat Shobha Karandlaje, Udupi MLA K Raghupati Bhat and some other party leaders.
Paryaya Swami Vidyadeesha Teertha, the Palimaru mutt chief, offered her the prasadam. Speaking to reporters, Sitharaman said she had a close bond with the Sri Krishna mutt and Sri Mookambika temple at Kollur.
According to media reports, she also took part in a meeting of fishermen at Manipal and later attend the BJP workers’ convention at the party office. She also accompanied Shobha Karandlaje during the filing of her nomination papers for the coming elections.
