KCR phonic talk with farmer violates model code: Cong

Hyderabad: Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao’s telephonic conversation with a farmer to address the latter’s problem in a land ownership issue has violated the model code of conduct, said the State Congress unit yesterday.

Rao did it for publicity and electoral benefit, claimed G Niranjan, the State Congress’ election commission coordination committee convener. He also said that he has complained to election authorities about the issue.

“We welcome if a problem is solved. But when the the model code is in force, why this publicity by misusing power?” Niranjan noted.

‘The intervention of Rao’ led to the chief minister addressing the redressal of the concerned farmer’s complaint over error in records vis-a-vis ownership of his lands in Mancherial district.
