KCR phonic talk with farmer violates model code: Cong

Hyderabad: Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao’s telephonic conversation with a farmer to address the latter’s problem in a land ownership issue has violated the model code of conduct, said the State Congress unit yesterday.

Rao did it for publicity and electoral benefit, claimed G Niranjan,¬†the State Congress’ election commission coordination committee convener. He also said that he has complained to election authorities about the issue.

“We welcome if a problem is solved. But when the the model code is in force, why this publicity by misusing power?” Niranjan¬†noted.

‘The intervention of Rao’ led to the chief minister addressing the redressal of the concerned farmer’s complaint over error in records vis-a-vis ownership of his lands in Mancherial district.
