Bengaluru: JD(S) supremo H D Deve Gowda yesterday accused the BJP of trying to persuade the Karnataka Chief Minister Kumaraswamy to form government together with them by offering money.
His statement comes in the aftermath of Statewide I-T raids on his partymen. He claimed that the BJP had asked Kumaraswamy to come to Mumbai before the election and promised to give him big money for the party’s electoral expenses. But the CM had rejected the offer to join hands with the ruling party at the Centre.
BJP president Amit Shah had wanted to meet him two years back, but Gowda had refused, he further claimed. And because of this, BJP was taking revenge by conducting raids on the residences of JDS and Congress leaders in Karnataka, alleged the former prime minister. Many leaders of the coalition party also alleged that the raids were politically motivated.
