Chennai: Actor Rajinikanth today denied any idea of supporting Kamal Haasan’s Makkal Needhi Maiam in the upcoming Lok Sabha polls.

Responding to the question of if he would extend support to Kamal’s party, Rajini said he had already made his political stand clear and there was no change in it.

Rajinikanth said curtly, “I made my political stand very clear as far as this election is concerned. Don’t try to create enmity between me and Kamal Haasan.”
Addressing mediapersons at his residence in Poes Garden before leaving for Mumbai to shoot for his movie Darbar, Rajinikanth said he welcomes the BJP manifesto for the Lok Sabha polls as it speaks about interlinking rivers to address the issue of water crisis.
He said, “I already said there is a need to tackle the water crisis in the State. There is a need for interlinking of rivers.” I welcome the BJP manifesto that speak about the interlinking of rivers, he added.

“I had discussed about interlinking of rivers of with former prime minister Vajpayee. I am happy to see that it has been mentioned in the BJP manifesto. Interlinking of rivers will bring a solution to poverty and bring employment to many people. I cannot talk much about this as it is election time,” he added.

He also said there was good response for the first look of Darbar which was released this morning. The movie is directed by A R Murugadoss and bankrolled by Lyca Productions.
