Chennai: Income-Tax (I-T) officials conducted a raid at the residence of former AIADMK MLA Iyyappan this morning.
According to sources, the searches were conducted at his Cuddalore residence. However, there were reportedly no seizures of cash or documents.
Following the incident, Iyyappan addressed the media and claimed that the raids were planned by the AIADMK as they were unhappy about his joining the DMK.
I-T sleuths also carried out raids at the house and company of a financier at Tiruvannamalai. The searches took place at the residence of Nagappan, owner of a finance company, at Durabali Street. It is said that Rs 60 lakh was seized from the place.
