Puducherry: Coming down heavily on Puducherry Chief Minister V Narayanasamy, Amma Makkal Munnetra Kazhagam (AMMK) leader T T V Dinakaran slammed the former for not demanding statehood to the union territory when he was a central minister in the previous UPA government.
Dinakaran made the statement while canvassing for his party’s nominees in the lone Lok Sabha seat in the union territory and by-poll to the assembly for the coming elections.
Speaking at the rally, he pointed out that Narayanasamy did not initiate steps to get statehood and there wouldn’t have been problems with Lt Governor Kiran Bedi if he had done so.
He further accused the chief minister and AINRC chief N Rangasamy of doing nothing for the development of Puducherry and that they were only engaged in exchanging accusations.
“Both the samies – Narayanasamy and Rangasamy – have not done anything for development of Puducherry. People should shun both the Congress-DMK and AINRC-led alliances in the April 18 Lok Sabha elections,” said Dinakaran.
He urged the voters in Puducherry to support the AMMK in order to break new grounds and reach goals of development of the Union Territory.
