Director accused of asking women trainees to remove clothes

Hyderabad: A theatre personality and director who conducts acting workshops at a theatre group-cum-acting school is facing charges for allegedly asking women trainees to remove their cloths.

The case was filed by a 21-year-old woman, who was one of the trainees. She made the allegations on 15 April and said the director had asked the students attending the workshop to remove their clothes or else walk out. The woman claimed that she came out of the class and later lodged a police complaint.

Meanwhile, the director has refuted the allegations. He has reportedly said it is part of the act/drama which the students are to perform.

A case under IPC section 509 (word, gesture or act intended to insult the modesty of a woman) has been registered against him.
