Hyderabad: The police yesterday arrested three men for allegedly smuggling over 1,000 kg ganja worth Rs 1.68 crore from Andhra Pradesh to Maharashtra.
The directorate of revenue intelligence department received a tip off and acting on it they intercepted a lorry carrying the narcotic. The ganja weighing 1,121 kg were concealed under bricks.
The accused men were smuggling them from Sileru in Andhra Pradesh to Sholapur in Maharashtra.
The officials seized the drug and the vehicle under the provisions of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act, 1985.
