Actors Shruti Haasan and Vijay Sethupathi have teamed up for the first time for the Tamil film Laabam. It was officially launched Monday in Rajapalayam.
Shruti, whose last film was the 2017 Tamil action-drama Singam 3 makes a mini-comeback with Laabam. It will be directed by National award-winning director SP Jananathan, best known for making popular films such as Iyarkai and Purampokku. Laabam’s cast also includes actors Kalaiarasan and Jagapathi Babu who reportedly plays the antagonist.
Sources say Vijay Setupathi plays a farmer in Laabam and Shruti Haasan has essayed the role of a singer/dancer who travels different places and educates people.
Cinematographer Ramji of Paruthi Veeran fame will crank the camera and Imman will compose music. The filmmakers say Laabam will be an action entertainer
The film is bankrolled by Vijay Sethupathi Productions in association with 7 CS Entertainments. Vijay Sethupathi who recently appeared as a transwoman in Super Deluxe, currently has his hands full with about half a dozen projects. He is also awaiting the release of his Tamil action film Sindhubaadh.
