Karnataka CM hits out at media, says he is boycotting them

Bengaluru: Upset over the press coverage of the Mandya Lok Sabha polls, from where his son Nikhil Gowda is being fielded, Karnataka Chief Minister H D Kumaraswamy said he was ‘boycotting’ the media.

Speaking to reporters, an apparently outburst Kumaraswamy said, “I’m boycotting you… You do whatever you want for your story… Go do it. Go enjoy.” He made the statement when some reporters sought his comments after his meeting with Congress General Secretary K C Venugopal.

According to media reports, the chief minister was apparently upset over the media coverage of the Mandya Lok Sabha polls. JD(S) was fielding his son Nikhil from the constituency. Nikhil is pitted against actress Sumalatha Ambareesh. Sumalatha is an independent candidate.

Kumaraswamy had in the recent past hit out at the media repeatedly and accused them of supporting Sumalatha.

Last tear in November, the CM said he would not address the press and also that he would “limit the media to what I speak from the stage.” Kumaraswamy recently alleged that the media showed only Prime Minister Narendra Modi as he gets the “makeup” done to get a glow on his face before appearing in front of the camera.
