MS School of Art held exhibition in Chennai

Chennai: Art enthusiasts in the neighbourhood had a reason to celebrate, as MS School of Art, had organised an exhibition – Dazzles’ 19 till 30 April at Hotel Ambassador Pallava in Egmore.

For the past seven years, its founder MS Shwetha has been conducting similar expos to showcase the talents of the school’s students.

But for the first time, the show is said to have had visually appealing art works of only ten senior students, on display.

Speaking to News Today, one of the artists, Priyanka, said, “I have been learning here for the past seven years. I have done three paintings on different mediums.”

The drawings that were on display adopted various styles such as knife painting, Kerala murals and soft pastels, and a few more to express the unique and versatile themes that have been chosen.

“I put up four paintings and have used mediums like acrylic. My work is mainly based on nature with animals, birds and landscapes,” says another artist, Vaishali.

She credits her teacher, Shwetha, saying, “I have honed my skills from her. She is my main source of inspiration.”

Adding to her words, Hemawathy, another student here, said, “I have been learning at the MS School of Arts for the past four years. I have contributed four paintings, of which three are knife-based while the other is acrylic.”
