Precaution would have prevented water crisis: Kamal Haasan

Chennai: Had precautionary measures been taken, the water crisis that the State is facing would not have happened, Makkal Needhi Maiam founder Kamal Haasan has said.

His comments came on the back of the severe water crisis that Chennai is facing at the moment, with water being taken from quarries around the city to meet the needs of the residents.

Kamal Haasan went on to say that Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal’s comments on Tamilnadu students were wrong. “It is wrong to speak against national unity, be it Kejriwal or anyone else,” the actor-turned-politician stated. “I believe Kejriwal’s comments came on the back of State autonomy,” he added.

Arvind Kejirwal had earlier this week stated that Tamil students were taking up places that could be filled by Delhi students in universities in the Union Territory. The comment drew protests from the student community and other groups.
