Kerala man hits son with spade handle for scoring less than A+

Thiruvananthapuram: The police here arrested a man for allegedly hitting his son with the handle of a spade yesterday.

Based on a complaint by his wife and son, a case was registered against 43-year-old Sabu. The accused was a casual labourer from Kilimanoor. He was angered when his son failed to get ‘A plus’ in all subjects in the SSLC examination.

On Monday evening, after the results of the exams were declared, he hit his son as he had scored A plus in only 6 of the 10 subjects. Whereas, he was expecting him to top in all subjects. Sabu was produced before a local court and remanded to 14 days judicial custody.
