Plus-one board exams results out: Erode district tops the list

Chennai: In the plus-one results announced today in Tamilnadu, 95 per cent students have passed the board exam with flying colours.

Erode tops the list among districts by bettering the State average and scoring 98.09 per cent pass. It is closely followed by Tirupur, which registered 97.90 pass percentage, and Coimbatore, which scored 97.60 per cent pass.

As is the trend these days, girls outdid boys as 96.5 per cent of them passed, while only 93.3 per cent of boys cleared the exam.

Among the different schools, matriculation schools have given a good account of themselves with 99.1 pass percentage.

The scores of other schools are:

government-aided schools – 96.9 per cent;
girls schools – 96.8 per cent;
co-education schools- 95.1 per cent;
government schools – 90.6 per cent.

In general, students have fared well in Computer Science with the pass percentage being 98.2 per cent, while Botany had the least pass percentage at 91.1 per cent.

In all, 2,634 schools in Tamilnadu have recorded 100 per cent pass percentage.
