Chennai: As the Swimming Federation of India reaches 50 years of existence, a Tamilian will be heading it this year.
The honour goes to noted industrialist Jayaprakash.
Jayaprakash is the father of famous international swimmer Agnishwar and the head of the Agni Group of Companies. He is taking charge from former Goa chief minister Digambar Kamath.
Considering his contribution to the sport of swimming, Jayaprakash has been elected unopposed. He was felicitated this morning at a hotel in Chennai, said a release from the federation.
