The Madras Seva Sadan Alumni, formed recently, also took the decision to honour teachers.

Students of the batch – L Sundararaman, V Subramanian, B Balasubramanian, R Jayaraman and B Sureshkumar – met school headmistress S M Thara Begam in January and gave a letter requesting management approval.

She thanked and appreciated the gesture of the old students for the decision to honour teachers and to award students.

“The event will be held during Founder’s Day,” said Sundararaman, co-ordinator of the alumni association.

An endowment fund will be created to give awards to students every year in the name of ‘Madras Seva Sadan Alumni 1969’ instituted by the batch students, Sundararaman said.
