BJP worker, 2 others booked for ruckus at Kamal’s poll meet

Karur: In connection with the hurling of stones and eggs during a meeting in which Makkal Needhi Maiam founder was taking part, the police have registered a case against local BJP functionary and two other men.

The actor politician was addressing an election meeting near Aravakurichi when the incident happened. Nobody was hit or injured in the incident.

Following this, MNM workers beat up two people suspected to have hurled stones and eggs. However, the police intervened and took them away for questioning.

Earlier in the week, a footwear was hurled towards a vehicle from which Haasan was addressing an election meeting in the Tirupparankundram assembly constituency.

MNM chief Kamal stoked a major controversy with his “free India’s first extremist was Godse and that he was a Hindu” statement. He drew nation-wide condemnation from BJP and the AIADMK.
