Chennai: With his constituency Varanasi going to polls tomorrow, Prime Minister Narendra Modi today prayed at the Kedarnath temple.
Modi was given full temple honours and he spent about 15 minutes in private prayer.
The Prime Minister is on a two-day visit to Uttarakhand and, according to reports, will be visiting Badrinath tomorrow and return to Delhi in the afternoon.
This is the fourth time that Modi is praying at Kedarnath after becoming Prime Minister.
Last year, he had visited the Kedarnath shrine, situated in the Garhwal Himalayan range of Uttarakhand’s Rudraprayag, during Deepavali in November.
In 2017, he prayed twice at the temple: once in May after its gates opened after the six-month winter break, and in October, before it closed for winter.
This year, the Kedarnath temple opened to pilgrims 9 May after the winter break.
