Pettai Rappers hold road running event in city

Chennai: On 5 May (Sunday) Pettai Rappers, one of the Chapters of Chennai Runners, a running group, organised a 5 km road running event called the ‘Pettai 5000- Chennai’s Hottest 5 km’ which was a non-competitive fun running event aimed at encouraging the neighborhood community to take up running as a healthy physical activity.

According to a release, about 250 people comprising of children , women runners, beginner runners & veterans alike, participated in the event that was aimed at first time runners. The distance was chosen as 5 km to attract them. The event started off at Alumni Club in Boat club and the entire 5km was run in Alwatrpet and finished back at alumni club. All finishers were rewarded with a specially designed Finisher Medal, added the release.

To join the chapter CR Pettai Rappers, membership is free. The chapter meets at CP Ramasamy Road & Boat Club on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Sundays.
