Chennai: ‘Diversity’ and ‘progress’ were the mantra at the NDA thanksgiving meeting attended by leaders of political parties in the alliance from all over the country including Chief Minister Edappadi K Palaniswami, Deputy Chief Minister O Panneerselvam, PMK leader Anbumani Ramadoss and DMDK treasurer Premalatha Vijayakanth among others from Tamilnadu.
Sharing pictures from the meet, Prime Minister Narendra Modi tweeted, “With the NDA family. Our alliance represents India’s diversity and our agenda is India’s progress. We are best suited to address regional aspirations and enhance national progress.”
As the nation braces itself for Lok Sabha elections’ counting tomorrow, BJP organised this ‘meet and greet’ event as a show of strength to thank the leaders of political parties in the NDA alliance and to appreciate the work done by the council of Ministers in the incumbent government over the last five years.
Speaking to the leaders at the meeting, Modi said that ‘needless controversy’ has been created by the Opposition over EVMs and laid out the agenda for the next five years if it is elected to power again.
Speaking to reporters, Union Minister Rajnath Singh said, “The meeting was attended by 36 parties, and a resolution was passed terming the 2019 general election decisive for the country and pledging to make India strong, developed, prosperous and inclusive by 2022 when India completes 75 years of its independence.”
PMK president G K Mani, DMDK deputy general secretary L K Sudhish, actor and AISMK founder R Sarathkumar and Puthiya Tamilagam president Dr K Krishnasamy attended the get-together from Tamilnadu.
