New Delhi: BJP-led NDA won the 2019 general elections by a majority and Modi is the only leader after Nehru and Indira Gandhi to come back to power the second time with a majority.
Congratulatory messages poured in from world leaders and Prime Minister Narendra Modi yesterday thanked them by saying his government will work with utmost diligence for a better India.
He thanked world leaders such as Sri Lankan prime minister Ranil Wickremesinghe, Afghanistan president Ashraf Ghani and Israel Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu in a series of tweets.
Modi also thanked former president Pranab Mukherjee, cricketer Sachin Tendulkar, actor Akshay Kumar, actor-politician Rajnikanth and singer Asha Bhosle for their messages.
The prime minister said he will continue serving the nation with the same vigour and that team India is the actual winner in this elections. He also added his government would be fully committed to providing good governance that leads to empowerment of every citizen and furthers prosperity in our society. The prime minister asserted that it is the people of India who blessed his party and no stone will be left unturned to fulfil their aspirations.
