ACB unearths assets worth Rs 2.25 crore from Telangana govt official

Hyderabad: Anti-corruption bureau sleuths seized assets worth Rs 2.25 crore allegedly belonging to an official working in the transport office in the city yesterday.

According to media reports, on Wednesday, the accused A Praveen Kumar had allegedly demanded and accepted a bribe of Rs 10,000 and was subsequently caught at his office in Vikarabad district of Telangana.

Kumar’s two agents had received the money from the complainant for doing an official favour and the police based on a tip-off arrested the trio.

Following this, a case of disproportionate assets was registered against Kumar and the sleuths conducted a search at his house. They retrieved cash to the tune of Rs 45 lakh, gold ornaments weighing 310 gm besides documents of immovable properties, all worth about Rs 2.25 crore.
