Modi to meet mom, go on foreign tour

New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi will be in Gujarat Sunday evening to seek the blessings of his mother after his BJP-led NDA returned to power with a massive majority in the Lok Sabha elections.

On Monday, he will be in Varanasi, the LS seat he retained in the elections by a margin of 4.79 lakh votes.

“Will be going to Gujarat tomorrow evening, to seek blessings of my Mother. Day after tomorrow morning, I will be in Kashi to thank the people of this great land for reposing their faith in me,” the Prime Minister tweeted.

Meanwhile, Modi, in his second tenure as PM, will be making his first official foreign tour in June. According to reports, an official tour is on the cards and the visit would be to a country in the neighbourhood. During his first term as Prime Minister, his first official foreign tour was to Bhutan, thus removing the Himalayan kingdom from the list of South Asian countries that he could be visiting this time around.

On 13 June, Modi will head to the two-day Shanghai Cooperation Organization meet in Bishkek, Kyrgyzstan. The SCO meet is significant as it marks the first time since Modi and his Pakistani counterpart Imran Khan would be face-to-face.
