Modi visiting Varanasi to thank BJP cadres, people for his victory

Chennai: Prime Minister-elect Narendra Modi has left for his constituency Varanasi.

According to reports, he will personally meet the BJP cadres personally this afternoon to thank them for his electoral victory.

Modi garnered 4.80 lakh votes more than his nearest rival to win Varanasi a second time.

Modi, who is to take oath as Prime Minister for a second term 30 May at 7 pm, will be praying at the Kasi Viswanathar temple ahead of the other events.

So, security has been tightened around the temple and generally in Varanasi. A giant screen has been fixed outside the temple to enable people to see the rituals he would be performing inside.

Modi would then be taking out a victory rally to thank the people of the constituency who voted for him. Elaborate arrangements are being made for the whole show.
