TTV alleges non-registration of party votes, urges EC to provide info

Chennai: “It is strange that there is non-registration of votes. I have received information from party functionaries that there was zero registration of votes to our party,” claimed AMMK Chief TTV Dhinakaran yesterday.

He further urged the Election Commission to provide details regarding the issue. Speaking to reporters, he said that in the recently concluded Lok Sabha elections in the State that were held on 18 April, non-registration of votes in the polling booths were found. He further termed it as strange and that even if a booth had only about four or five party workers what had happened to their votes.

It was EC’s responsibility to reveal whether the votes of his party men were registered or not, he said and clarified that he was not targeting anyone on the issue.

However, he said that legal action on the matter could not be taken as there was lack of evidence to support his claim.
