Mala Manyan turns producer

A popular face in television and a veteran executive producer Mala Manyan ventures to produce a film. Titled Siragu, it would be directed by popular lyricist and writer Kutti Revathi. Playing the lead role is Hari Krishnan of Madras and Kabali fame. A yoga instrictire Akshitha makes her debut as heroine.

Speaking to News Today, Mala Manyan, says, “Having been in the industry for several years, it gave me guts to lay my hands at production. Having been part of several films, I have commenced this project with confidence. It is a crowd funding idea where I am bankrolling the film with a few investors who have come forward to fund it after I made a request on a public forum. We shot the movie as per our plan within our budget. I am sure that audience will love this movie.”

Mala Manyan says, “Siragu is a journey of two individuals who set out on a travel to explore life and relationship in a different perspective. A musical journey, it begins in Chennai and ends in Kaniyakumari.”

It is an attempt to give lesser known talented individuals to make films in a small budget. Raja Bhattacharjee is behind the camera and Arrol Correlli composes the music.
