ISKCON to conduct sloka classes for children

Chennai: ISKCON Chennai is conducting year-long weekly sloka and story classes for children in the age group (5 to 16) at 66 locations across city. The classes will start from 8 June.

According to a press release, the children will be divided into groups based on their age. The younger group will learn slokas, bhajans, stories and have fun with games and craft.

The older teen group will dip into the philosophy of the Bhagavad Gita and have various activities such as drama, debate, play to help them find self-confidence in their innate talents. At the end of the year, the children will perform in a talent show and receive participation certificates.

The theme for this year is ‘Avatar’. Children will learn 10 principal avatars as well as more that are listed in the Srimad Bhagavatham. The curriculum is prepared by experts in the field of education who are crowned with decades of experience, the release said.
