Chennai: Amid reports that there was a rift between Chief Minister Edappadi K Palaniswami and Deputy CM O Panneerselvam over choosing an AIADMK MP for Union Minister post, a senior State Minister today said that the two leaders stand united.
“Palaniswami and Panneerselvam are working like two hands in a body. There is no problem between them,” Minister Kamaraj told the media.
He said DMK president M K Stalin, who was dreaming a change of guard in Tamilnadu after the elections, was disappointed to know that the AIADMK government got majority.
Reports stated that while Panneerselvam wanted Ministerial berth in the Centre for his son and the lone Lok Sabha MP of AIADMK, O P Raveendranath Kumar, Palaniswami was opposed to the idea and supported Rajya Sabha MP Vaithilingam, following which the AIADMK was not offered Minister post in the new Cabinet led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
