Woman dies of fever in Kerala, swine flu suspected

Pathnamthitta: A 42-year-old woman from Anikkad suspected to be suffering from swine flu died at a hospital here yesterday.

The woman passed away when she was being shifted from a hospital in the district to the Kottayam medical college hospital.

According to media reports, the deceased woman’s samples have been sent to the Manipal Institute of virology for confirmation.

Meanwhile, a 23-year-old college student has been infected by the Nipah virus and Kerala is on a high alert. The disease had claimed 17 lives in the State last year.
