AMMK leader Inbathamizhan returns to parent party, AIADMK

Chennai: Former AIADMK minister and now Amma Makkal Munnetra Kazhagam leader, Inbathamizhan, has returned to his parent party.

This morning, the former sports minister met AIADMK co-coordinator and Chief Minister Edappadi K Palaniswami at his Greenways residence and joined the AIADMK.

Accompanied by his family, Inbathamizhan presented a shawl to Palaniswami and presented a huge flower arrangement of pink roses.

Inbathamizhan was the sports minister from 2001 to 2006 in the Jayalalithaa Cabinet.

After the split in the AIADMK following Jayalalithaa’s death in 2016, Inbathamizhan threw his lot with Sasikala faction and joined the Amma Makkal Munnetra Kazhagam party that was floated by Sasikala’s nephews T T V Dhinakaran.

Son of R Thamaraikani, Inbathamizhan, switched side to the DMK in 2006 after being denied ticket to contest the Assembly elections by the AIADMK.

Now he is back in the AIADMK fold.
