Missing people cases on rise in Telangana, BJP demands action

Hyderabad: Number of girls going missing the State is growing and this showed that perpetrators were expanding their activities, alleged K Laxman, BJP Telangana unit president yesterday.

He urged the State government to take crack missing persons cases by establishing a special wing. According to media reports, 545 people have gone missing this month.

All possible efforts have been made by the State police with the help of family members in tracking the missing people, said a release. There is a Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) to be followed by all the Investigation Officers for effective tracking and tracing of the missing persons and it is not correct to say that police have been neglecting the cases of investigation of missing persons, added the release.
