Chennai: Sleuths from the National Investigation Agency (NIA) today raided seven locations in Coimbatore in connection with the Easter Day bombings at churches and hotels in Colombo in Sri Lanka that killed more than 250 people.
Reports received here said the raids, being carried out in connection with an ISIS module case, were on in seven locations in Coimbatore, Separate NIA teams were involved in the raids being held simultaneously at Anbu Nagar, Podanur and Kuniamuthur areas.
The raids followed registration of a fresh case of ISIS module in Coimbatore. The reports also said that a top leader of ISIS module was said to have links with Sri Lankan blast alleged mastermind Zahran Hashim through Facebook.
The raids were also being held at the residence of one Mohammed Azharuddin, who was said to be the Facebook friend of Hasim.
