Chennai: The Tamilnadu Cabinet met today ahead of the 28 June Assembly session. Reports state that the meeting, chaired by Chief Minister Edappadi K Palaniswami, will be taking up for discussion ways to handle the debate on the water crisis and drought in the State that would be raised in the Assembly.
The meeting, being attended by Deputy Chief Minister O Panneerselvam and other Cabinet Ministers, will also take up the issue of funds needed for different departments that will be allocated during the budget session.
The Assembly session is expected to be a stormy one with the Opposition numbers having gone up after the recent by-elections. The Opposition MLAs and leaders are expected to raise various burning issues in the House that will be in session from 28 June.
The water crisis will find a prominent place among the issues that are to be debated apart from the hydrocarbon protest, Centre’s three-language formula, NEET exemption for Tamilnadu, etc.
The Business Advisory Committee of the Assembly will happen after the Cabinet meeting.
