11 farmers committed suicide under Naidu’s land pooling scheme: AP CM

Amaravati: On the second-day of the two-day Collectors conference, AP CM Jagan Mohan Reddy yesterday addressed a joint conference of District Collectors, Superintendents of Police and top IPS officials. He slammed his predecessor Chandrababu Naidu for his land pooling scheme during his tenure. “In the name of land pooling…who were not willing to part with their land…no humanity shown. Farmers were harassed and false cases were booked against them, so much so that 11 of them committed suicide in the last three years,” said the YSR Congress chief.

He further said the farmers who killed self were dalits. He assured the police full support and ordered them to crackdown on all illegal and criminal activities in the State. “Anything you do it in this purview, my blessings are totally with you. I am totally in support of you. Bring about a change,” Jagan added.

MLAs demanding money from theatre owners, institutions forced to pay money…clubs where gambling takes place…MLAs were involved. All this was happening right in front of our eyes,” Jagan noted.

He stressed on corruption free and transparent governance, saying law and order was the top-most priority and that AP government was making strong efforts toward that. Home Minister M Sucharita, Chief Secretary L V Subrahmanyam and Director General of Police Gautam Sawang also spoke during the meeting.
