Amaravati: The YSR Congress government conducted review meeting with officials of the AP Capital Region Development Authority over the irregularities involved in the development of the State’s capital city Amaravati. The meeting went on for 3 hours, after which the Chief Minister ordered a probe into the matter.
Speaking to reporters about the same, Municipal Administration Minister Botsa Satyanarayana said that the capital was ‘stinking with corruption’ as the previous TDP government had indulged in scams, such as land pooling, construction works, allotment of land.
The minister further said that even in allotment of returnable plots to the farmers who parted with their lands for Amaravati’s development, there were irregularities.
The YSRC government would take a final call on further constructions in the capital after studying all the aspects, including corruption.
Botsa further said, Jagan was particular that there should not be any corruption and public, especially farmers should not be put to any sort of trouble. He wanted a good name for the government and the satisfaction of executing a good project.
It is said that another round of meeting on the capital city would be held soon and crucial decisions would be taken then.
