Death toll of van-truck collision in Kerala rises to six

Coimbatore: In a tragic incident, a van travelling from here collided with a stationary truck in Kerala killing five people on the spot. According to media reports, the toll rose to six yesterday with the death of an 8-year-old boy.

The van was travelling to Palakkad when the mishap happened. Seven others were injured. The 8-year-old boy was admitted to a private hospital in the district but succumbed to injuries.

Meanwhile, Chief Minister K Palaniswami has announced a solatium of Rs Two lakh to the kin of the deceased, Rs 50,000 to those seriously injured and Rs 25,000 for people with minor injuries.
