Chennai: Former minister Esakki Subbiah, now a leader in the Amma Makkal Munnetra Kazhagam (AMMK), led by T T V Dhinakaran, is poised to return to the AIADMK fold.
Holding a media conference this morning at Tenkasi, a visibly perturbed Esakki Subbiah, announced that he would returning to the ‘Thaai Kazhagam’ (AIADMK) with 20,000 cadres.
He said he was pained by an interview that Dhinakaran had given where he had made fun of Esakki having been a minister for just 48 days – one mandalam. This does not behove a leader, he criticised at the press meet.
The former minister also said Dhinakaran was jittery about the status of the AMMK.
He said AIADMK coordinator and Deputy Chief Minister O Panneerselvam, and party co-coordinator and Chief Minister Edappadi K Palaniswami had promised to come to Tenkasi 6 July to take him back into the party.
It was only a week ago that Thanga Tamilselvan, who was the propaganda secretary of the AMMK, had come out of the party and joined the DMK. Before him, it was Senthil Balaji, who is now a DMK MLA.
