Temple in Delhi vandalised; Owaisi condemns attack

Hyderabad: A day after a temple was vandalised in Delhi, AIMIM chief Asaduddin Owaisi condemned the attack. Taking to Twitter, the Hyderabad MP said attack on any place of worship or worshippers is an attack on the pluralism and diversity of the nation.

A row over parking a scooter in Chawri Bazaar area turned into a communal tension on Monday. This led to miscreants attacking a Durga temple during the night. Owaisi said the culprits should be prosecuted and convicted in a time-bound manner.

Reacting to reports about alleged unimpressive progress in reducing infant mortality in India, Owaisi blamed the NDA government led by BJP in the Centre for it. In a separate tweet, he claimed that NDA slashed allocation of funds to the Integrated Child Development Services (ICDS) scheme and continued to make inadequate allocation. ICDS is an essential programme to battle infant mortality, he added.
