Chennai: TVS Motor Company has seen a fall in sale of two-wheelers in the first quarter of the current financial year, with 8.84 lakh units, as against sales of 8.93 lakh units in the same period last year.
For the month of June, the firm sold 283,461 two-wheelers, witnessing a slight dip from 301,201 units sold last year during the same period.
On a positive note, sale of three-wheelers of the company in the quarter grew by 11 per cent, increasing from 0.36 lakh units in the first quarter of the previous year to 0.40 lakh units in the first quarter of the current year.
Domestic two-wheeler registered sales of 226,279 units in June, with motorcycle sales coming in at 131,331 units and scooters registering 99,007 units this year.
The company’s total exports grew by 6 per cent at 69,900 units. Two-wheeler exports grew by 4 per cent.
