Two held for carrying weapons in car at Adyar in Chennai

Chennai: The city police held two persons and seized five sickles from their car at Adyar signal last night.

The gang was allegedly planning a revenge murder.

According to the police, at 11.35 pm, a team of police was checking for cases of drunken driving in Adyar when they stopped this four-wheeler. However, the driver of the vehicle, Venkatesan, fled the scene. TheĀ  police caught the remaining two passengers – Raja (36) and Jeeva (35). When the car was searched, they found five sickles.

It is said the men were roaming in the area looking for an opportunity to murder a man who was allegedly involved in the killing of their close aides.
