Hyderabad: A day after Ambatti Rayudu retired from all forms of cricket, TRS working president praised him by calling him a super talented champ.
He said the middle-order batsman would be remembered for his brilliance by cricket lovers for a long time.
“Selectors may have snubbed you but Indian cricket lovers will remember your brilliance for a long time. Good luck in your second innings,” tweeted Rama Rao.
He was left disappointed when the Indian team picked Mayank Agarwal to replace the injured Vijay Shankar for the ongoing ICC World Cup.
Rayudu was named as a reserve batsman when the Chairman of Selectors MSK Prasad announces India’s 15-man squad for the World Cup. Rayudu was overlook twice during this World Cup as earlier Rishabh Pant was called up ahead of him to replace injured opener Shikhar Dhawan in England.
The 33-year-old Andhra Pradesh batsman thus announced his international retirement.
