Chennai:Residents of Pachaiappa Street at Jafferkhanpet have been requesting the civic body to shift the garbage bins and widen the road. They allege that repeat petitions to the authorities have gone in vain.
On Pachaiappa Street entrance, there are four bins and it leads to many accidents. “But the Corporation does not clear the bin and garbage overflows on to the road,” said a woman shopkeeper in the locality.
She said the officials have promised to shift the bins, but there has been no action so far. Apart from living with foul smell, residents allege that they also have to deal with cattle menace. “Stray cattle disturb commuters as they feed on the garbage that lies scattered on the road,” said a resident.
