Hyderabad: “In the core-committee meeting held Saturday, our national president Amit Shah gave clear directions to focus on Telangana and come to power. When we have got 20 per cent vote share in the Parliamentary elections, we have ample time to reach every nook and corner of the state,” said State BJP President K Laxman yesterday.
This is part of BJP’s ‘Mission 2023’ said Laxman. In a bid to strengthen BJP in Telangana, Amit Shah would tour Telangana every month ahead of the next assembly elections, he said.
Speaking to reporters, Laxman said Shah asked the State unit to achieve 50 per cent vote share in next Assembly polls and ensure they come to power in the next election.
Laxman further accused the TRS government was not sincerely implementing welfare schemes of the central government in the State and was adopting anti-poor policies. He said Detailed Project Report or national project status of the Kaleshwaram irrigation project was not sought from the Centre. The government feared that Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s popularity would rise here.
He further slammed the TRS Working President K T Rama Rao for terming the union budget extremely disappointing and insipid. Rama Rao on Saturday in his tweet had shown a thumbs-down to the #UnionBudget2019.
In the Assembly elections last December, BJP bagged just one seat out of the 119 segments. In the recently held Lok Sabha elections, the party put up a better performance, winning four seats.
