Three more law colleges to come up in TN: CM

Chief Minister Edappadi K Palaniswami making a slew of announcements under Rule 110 including the construction of three new law colleges in the State in the Assembly today.

Chennai: Chief Minister Edappadi K Palaniswami today said three new law colleges will be constructed in the State at a cost of Rs 9.52 crore.

Making the announcement under the Rule 110 in the Assembly, he said to begin work at the earliest a special officer will be appointed to oversee each college.

“To give more space to the sub courts functioning at the High Court premises a mulitsory building will be constructed at a cost of Rs 202.40 crore,” he said.

He further said the roads and bridges that were damaged during the Cyclone Gaja will be repaired at a cost of Rs 200.53 crore. “Apart from this 1,200 crore will be allotted this year to upgrade panchayat roads,” he said.

He also announced that 10,000 checkdams will be constructed at a cost of Rs 312 crore. “The work will be carried out by the MGNREGA Workers,” he added.
