Chennai: The second edition of Bharat Super League Kabaddi was launched recently in Tamilnadu. The district-level match of the league was conducted in Coimbatore where Karpagam University won with a score of 26-25.
By virtue of the win, Karpagam University qualified for the grand finale to be held in Coimbatore, 21 and 22 July.
Totally, 16 teams played in the league involving eight knockout matches. In the end, Karpagam University and Sivakumar Sports Club played the final with the former emerging as the winner in the closely fought contest.
The winning team from Coimbatore district won prize money of Rs 12,000, a trophy, and individual medals. The runner-up team received a cash prize of Rs 8,000.
In Bharat Super League, 128 teams across eight districts of Tamilnadu battle it out for the finale in which the winner will receive a cash prize of Rs 31,000 and the runner-up team will be given a prize of Rs 21,000.
