Chennai: The Regional Meteorological Centre (MRC) here has forecast heavy to very heavy rainfall today and the next three days in Tamilnadu.
According to the RMC website, the forecast for various parts of Tamilnadu is heavy to very heavy rainfall. This is due to upper air convection.
The forecast for Chennai for the next 24 hours is that the sky condition is likely to be generally cloudy. Light rain is likely to occur in some areas. Maximum and Minimum temperatures will be around 37 and 27 degrees Celsius.

Chinnakalar (Coimbatore district) 10.
Valparai PTO (Coimbatore district), Cuddalore (Cuddalore district) 9 each.
Valparai Taluk Office (Coimbatore district) 7.
Jayankondam (Ariyalur district), Tirumayam (Pudukkottai district), Lower Kothaiyar ARG (Kanyakumari district) 5 each.
Periyar (Theni district), Kodaikanal (Dindigul district), Thiruthuraipoondi (Tiruvarur district), Keeranur (Pudukkottai district), Kuzhithurai (Kanyakumari district), Aravakurichi (Karur district) 4 each.
Gingee (Villupuram district), Tirukoilur (Villupuram district), Pappireddipatti (Dharmapuri district),
Pallipattu (Tiruvallur district), Paiyur Aws (Krishnagiri district), Colachel (Kanyakumari district),
Cholavaram (Tiruvallur district) 3 each.
Other areas in the State recorded 2 cm to 1 cm rainfall.
Since heavy wind is likely to accompany heavy rainfall in Kanyakumari district, fishermen have been advised not to venture into the sea.
