SC judgements in vernacular languages: TN CM thanks Centre

Chennai: Tamilnadu Chief Minister K Palaniswami yesterday lauded the Central government for making Supreme Court judgements available in vernacular languages.

The CM said it was a path-breaking move. In a letter to Union Law and Justice Minister Ravishankar Prasad, Palaniwami said the move would go a long way and would help people understand judgements better.

This initiative will bring people closer to the judicial system, he said. He also requested the Union Minister to ensure copies of judgments of the Madras High Court are made available in Tamil.
