Chennai: The Selliamman temple tank at Indra Nagar is being de-silted at a cost of Rs 21 lakh. The bhoomi pooja for the work was performed recently.
Speaking to News Today, former Councillor G Shankar said the waterbody will be given a makeover.
“The sidewalls will be painted, following which the broken grills will be replaced,” he said. He further said the work is expected to be completed in 20 days.
Residents are happy about the development and are hoping that the works are completed before the begins to rain. The de-silting work of Perumal Temple tank in Selaiyur is nearing completion.
