Chennai: The city police are conducting inquiries with a woman and her paramour after her husband was found dead at Nerkundram under suspicious circumstances.
According to police, Nagaraj (28), an auto driver and a native of Thiruvannamalai, lived with his wife Gayathri and three children at Nerkundram.
The couple had a love marriage seven years ago. However, he suspected his wife of having an affair and the duo often fought over this. Initial reports stated that on Sunday, following a fight between the duo, Gayathri left the house. Later when Nagaraj’s relative came to the house, he was found dead with his nose and ears bleeding.
Police said they suspect that Gayathir and her paramour Mahendran smothered Nagaraj and also used a dupatta to kill him. It seems like a pre-planned murder as Nagaraj knew about the affair and opposed it, they added.
Police said further conclusions can be reached only after the post mortem report arrived. Nagaraj’s body was sent to Government Kilpauk Hospital.
