Chennai: Deputy Chief Minister O Panneerselvam, who is stationed in New Delhi, today met Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman. It is to be noted that Panneerselvam also holds Finance portfolio in the State Cabinet.
Panneerselvam, who left for the capital Sunday, met Home Minister Amit Shah yesterday.
Sources said various issues were discussed during the meeting. Panneerselvam left for New Delhi after the Assembly session was concluded Saturday.
The meeting was also seen as significant as it took place at a time when the election for the Vellore Lok Sabha constituency had been announced. The AIADMK alliance in which the BJP was part of did not fare well in the Lok Sabha polls held for 38 constituencies recently.
